Young Life & its Intersection with my life and faith over the past 8.5 years

My Young Life Introduction & Story

What's been happening?

In August 2022, Jacob moved to Cleveland, TN to transfer to Lee University to pursue his studies in English education. Upon his arrival, he met Jake Flippo, the staff associate heading up the new ministry in this town. Jacob began doing contact work in October 2022 by meeting students in the cafeteria and after school at Cleveland High School. In January 2023, Jacob took on the role of team leader where he organizes the team admin functions and suggests ways the team can innovate and evolve to meet more kids.
Starting in May 2023, Jacob will be doing a field staff internship with Illinois Stateline Young Life in Rockford, Illinois where he will be assisting the area director with administrative duties, understanding donor care, planning area events, organizing area calendars, developing leadership initiatives, and implementing research on adolescent culture in a cumulative research portfolio.

In August 2023, Jacob will be going on part-time Young Life staff as a member of the Chattanooga Student Staff team. He will continue leading at Cleveland High School with an additional 5+ hours of contact work each week to meet and invest into the lives of high school students. He will have the opportunity to work with the Chattanooga staff team and have bi-weekly meetings about ministry and leadership development at the Young Life office. With this opportunity comes an additional cost, however. Jacob is seeking both prayerful and financial partners who will support him in this next year of ministry as he pursues the furthest out kids in Cleveland. He will bring you alongside of him as he enters into the world of teens in the Bible Belt of Southeastern Tennessee.
